Navigating the agricultural data management landscape is difficult, yet it’s more necessary than ever to get it right. Organizations supporting farmers need to understand how to collect, manage, and analyze multiple sources of farm data while maintaining data security and privacy. We can help:
Trust your work to a team with a strong track record of delivering impactful data management projects in food systems. Our Sci’s expertise spans multiple disciplines, including farm technology infrastructure consulting, agricultural research design and data analysis, data-driven land stewardship, and community of practice development.
From 2018 to 2023 we built and managed a soil and produce testing lab for the Bionutrient Institute, as well as the necessary software, sample collection, data management, and reporting infrastructure, successfully managing data from over 30,000 processed samples from 30+ states across 15+ crops. In addition to building the data pipeline, we developed an interactive data explorer so farm partners could explore how their results compared to the broader community and worked with partners to analyze the dataset and generate reports and peer-reviewed scientific journal articles.

We built a custom data collection, management, and quality review pipeline for Pasa Sustainable Agriculture using SurveyStack and a customized FarmOS module. The pipeline supports collection, translation and quality control of farm practice and soil health data for their Soil Health Benchmarking Study, which includes over 14,000 activities from over 200 farms.

We are partnering with multiple organizations to develop a multi-tenant FarmOS module. The customized FarmOS module enables organizations to manage data from hundreds of farms from a single platform. Users can use quick forms to simplify data collection and use customized views to simplify quality review and reporting all while providing the producers access to their submitted data.
Collaboration can often be hampered by a lack of interoperable data. We partnered with AxiLab, QLever, Farmier, OpenTEAM, and the USDA to develop the Common Farm Convention, a set of guidelines for collection and storage of interoperable farm practice and soil health data, including the Modus standard for labelling soil health data from labs.
